Brad Hails

Brad Hails born in Sydney, Australia in the Summer of ’64 from migrant parents. Dawning the age of Aquarius as an infant juxtaposed in folk music from the homeland and popular tunes from that era; Burt Bacharach, Tom Jones, Dusty Springfield swooning from the family’s newly acquired Swedish design teak hi-fi cabinet.

The painful years of adolescence were magnified by the onslaught of 70’s disco through to early ‘80’s New Romantics and would no doubt leave some unresolved emotional scars.

He decided to leave Australia on a global trek in search of something more solid and rooted. Ten years had passed and he had returned home. A backpack brimming with culture and over laden with strange instruments.

On his return a strange, almost biblical revelation had occurred. Those hideous 70/80’s tunes of pop culture that he so despised was in fact where his own roots had taken hold. Those tunes suddenly sounded great.

.....he would head for the mountain…

A reconfirmation would manifest itself in a strange way whilst being held captive on Round Mountain and in turn those very tunes became his salvation providing the catalyst for a most gallant escape from the clutches of that menacing cult.

In rememberance of lost comrades and fellow captives he will take the stage in a “dead man’s hat”.

His fingers tremble and sweat anxiously, contemplating the delicate movements over tightly hitched nylons. He will hail the sweet melodies which entranced his keeper and reignite your attachment with the past in a way you thought not humanly possible.
